See & do

What can you see and do in Sundsvall?

Amarok Hundsläde

Take the opportunity to take your family or friends on a fast-paced tour in Ljungandalen and experience dog go-karting in the summer or dog sledding in the winter. The Cani-kart is pulled by 14 huskies and is of course suitably equipped so that you can ride in comfort and safety. Here there is no age limit and bookings are made on the website, Facebook, email or telephone.

Himlabadet

Visit the adventure pool for an exciting and fun swimming experience with family or friends. Here there are attractions that suit both young and old. Swim against, with or around the current in the round pool, climb the climbing wall and try the waterslide, a steeply inclined course with water spraying towards the centre. The adventure pools are approximately 30 degrees, the children's pools are a little warmer at 32 degrees and the hot tubs are even a little warmer at 34 degrees. Something special about Himlabadet is that they are the first in Europe with the Surfstream surfing machine, which is an attraction for young people and adults. At the children's pool area, children can meet the Otter and his friends the cone, the salmon, the frog, the leaf, the rainbow and the dragonfly. Saunas of several types are also available here, hot pool, cold pool and experience showers. On the top floor you will find relaxation with a roof terrace facing Selångersån in the best sunny position.

Tips on restaurants, cafes and bars in Sundsvall

Basta Urban Italian

Restaurant Basta is an Italian overall concept and an urban meeting place that is at the crossroads between the vibrant city and the fantastic Italian cuisine. Have dinner, stop by for a glass of wine at the bar, a fresh pasta or a Neapolitan pizza for lunch or pick up take away, the options are many. The restaurant is a lively meeting place with full focus on authentic Italian food served with great vibes and emotions.

Bloco

Restaurant Bloco is inspired by all the hundreds of neighborhood parties that together form the carnival in Rio. Bloco's concept aims at Central America and the span between Suriname & San Fransisco. Here it is loud, colorful, lively, spontaneous, spicy smoky and earthy. Top notch, sharing is caring and casual dining are the watchwords when the South American ardor ends up in a grim northern fusion. Sit in a hammock in the best sunshine in town, have a drink on the roof terrace, dance to the music from the stage or challenge something in a game of boules.

Hotels

There are lots of hotels and hostels in Sundsvall. Here are our favorites.

Island Tree Houses

A visit to Island Tree Houses is about having a unique experience. The unique building was built on nature's own terms. Since a long time ago, we Swedes have had nature in our hearts, and with that spirit the wooden houses were built, with great respect for the surroundings. The wooden house is on two floors and has a generously sized double bed. Bed linen and towels are included here. There is also a simple outdoor kitchen and you can choose for yourself whether you want to bring your own food. At ground level you will find a service house with a summer shower and a mole toilet.

Södra Berget Hotell & Resort

The hotel's ambition is for you as a guest to have a memorable and pleasant stay at the hotel and in the city of Sundsvall. The hotel is located 240 meters above sea level on Södra Stadsberget, with approximately 3 kilometers to the center and has a fantastic view of the city, the sea, the horizon, the valley and the mountains. In addition to the view, there is a fantastic spa of approximately 1300 square meters that offers you as a guest cold & hot water springs, outdoor pool, steam & view sauna, Japanese washing, relaxation cradles and much more. Spice up your experience a little extra with a spa treatment but also food & drink in their Spa Lounge.
